One-Week Itinerary In Paris
Seven Days To Explore Paris At A Gentler Pace
Updated Sept. 30, 2026
These are 7 days at the destination, with arrival and departure travel planned separately. From the United States, allow for flight time, the date change where relevant and a gentler start after the journey.
Use the order below as a starting point, then adjust it to opening days, weather and the reservations you can actually secure. Keep nearby experiences together and leave time for meals and the journey between stops.
Day 1: The Seine And The Eiffel Tower
Morning: Begin with a river walk and your reserved tower visit if going up is a priority. Allow time for security and enjoy the surrounding views.
Afternoon And Evening: Spend the afternoon on a nearby route rather than racing across Paris. Choose a relaxed dinner and an early finish if you are recovering from an overnight flight.
Day 2: Historic Paris And The Left Bank
Morning: Explore the river islands and choose a cathedral or chapel visit with current entry arrangements confirmed. Continue into the Latin Quarter for lunch.
Afternoon And Evening: Enjoy the Left Bank streets and a garden or café stop. If the Louvre is your main priority, substitute it for the morning instead of adding it to a full day.
Day 3: The Louvre And The Tuileries
Morning: Reserve the Louvre and focus on a manageable selection of galleries. Plan a proper break after the visit.
Afternoon And Evening: Walk through the Tuileries or nearby streets and keep dinner geographically close. You do not need another large museum that afternoon.
Day 4: Montmartre At A Slower Pace
Morning: Explore Montmartre before the busiest part of the day, taking a route suited to your comfort with hills and steps.
Afternoon And Evening: Pause for lunch and continue into nearby streets. Keep the evening flexible for a performance, a special meal or simply time near your hotel.
Day 5: Orsay And Saint-Germain
Morning: Visit Musée d'Orsay with enough time for the art you most want to see. Check current ticket and exhibition arrangements.
Afternoon And Evening: Continue with a Left Bank lunch and a gentle neighborhood walk. A longer café stop is part of the day, not time lost from it.
Day 6: Le Marais Or A Planned Day Trip
Morning: Spend the day in the Marais with Place des Vosges and one museum or shopping priority. Enjoy lunch without rushing to another district.
Afternoon And Evening: If Versailles is essential to your trip, use this whole day for it instead. Verify the palace ticket, opening arrangements and return transport in advance.
Day 7: Your Own Paris Morning
Morning: Return to a favorite bakery, visit a missed garden or enjoy the neighborhood around your hotel. Keep checkout and luggage storage simple.
Afternoon And Evening: Allow for the correct airport journey and security. A CDG departure and an ORY departure need different routes and ticket products.
If you are leaving today, choose one nearby priority and leave the remaining time for packing, transport and the airport. If departure is tomorrow, enjoy the full day at the pace outlined above.
