Weekend Itinerary In Punta Cana
A Two-Day, One-Night Beach Getaway

If you don’t have vacation days or don’t want to spend them, you can still visit Punta Cana for the weekend.
Yes, just the weekend!
After all, Punta Cana has non-stop flights from cities throughout the United States and around the world, making a quick trip to the Dominican beach town easy. If you don’t live in a city which has an airport with direct flights to Punta Cana, though, this itinerary might not be possible. Here is a suggested itinerary on spending just the weekend in Punta Cana, assuming you work until 5 p.m. on a Friday. This also assumes that since you’ll only be in DR for one night, you’ll only take a carry on. Here we go!
Saturday
- 3 p.m.: Land at Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ)
- 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.: Deplane, go through customs, use restroom and order Uber to hotel
- 4 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Find Uber driver and commute to hotel
- 4:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.: Check-in to hotel and drop carry-on bag off at hotel room
- 5 p.m. – 6 p.m.: Walk along the beach and enjoy sunset
- 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.: Enjoy dinner and drinks at one of the hotel’s restaurants
- 9 p.m. – 10 p.m.: Visit hotel room to change into bathing suit and then head out to enjoy the hot tub
- 10:30 p.m.: Return to hotel room to shower and go to sleep in paradise
Sunday
- A.M.: Free time to enjoy the beach, a round of golf, a spa experience or the Ojos Indígenas Ecological Reserve. Check with the hotel about a late check-out time.
- 12 p.m.: Return to your room for a quick shower, pack your carry-on, check-out of the hotel and enjoy a lunch at one of the hotel’s restaurants
- 1:30 p.m.: Order an Uber back to the airport
- 2:00 p.m.: Check in for your flight, pass through security and wait at gate
- 5 p.m.: Board flight back home
