Updated Sept. 30, 2026

These are 7 days at the destination, with arrival and departure travel planned separately. From the United States, allow for flight time, the date change where relevant and a gentler start after the journey.

Use the order below as a starting point, then adjust it to opening days, weather and the reservations you can actually secure. Keep nearby experiences together and leave time for meals and the journey between stops.

Day 1: Westminster, The River And The West End

Morning: Start around Parliament and Westminster Abbey, choosing an interior visit if it interests you. Walk across the river for South Bank views and an unhurried lunch.

Afternoon And Evening: Return to your hotel for a break before a West End performance or dinner. Keep the evening flexible if this follows an overnight flight.

Day 2: The Tower And The City

Morning: Reserve the Tower of London and give it a substantial part of the morning. Continue toward Tower Bridge when you are ready for a change of scene.

Afternoon And Evening: Explore a nearby riverside route and choose lunch or dinner within the area. Avoid adding a distant museum simply to fill the schedule.

Day 3: Bloomsbury And The British Museum

Morning: Choose a few British Museum galleries and check any special exhibition booking. Enjoy the surrounding streets and lunch in Bloomsbury.

Afternoon And Evening: Spend the afternoon around Covent Garden or another nearby part of the West End. Leave space for a second performance or an early night.

Day 4: South Kensington And A Park

Morning: Select one major museum in South Kensington. Give its collections time and take a proper lunch break.

Afternoon And Evening: Walk through Kensington Gardens or Hyde Park if the weather is pleasant. Substitute more indoor time when rain or heat changes the plan.

Day 5: Greenwich By Rail Or River

Morning: Make Greenwich the focus of the day. Choose the maritime or observatory experience that interests you and confirm tickets.

Afternoon And Evening: Enjoy the park and river setting without hurrying back for a tightly timed central booking. Check the return service before dinner.

Day 6: A London Neighborhood Day

Morning: Choose a neighborhood for its market, food, architecture or shopping. Keep the day focused rather than trying to see every area named in a guide.

Afternoon And Evening: Take a long lunch, explore side streets and use the evening for a favorite venue. This day can also absorb an attraction moved because of weather or a closure.

Day 7: A Flexible Final London Day

Morning: Revisit a park, fit in a missed collection or enjoy a slow breakfast near the hotel. Keep luggage storage and checkout in mind.

Afternoon And Evening: Allow separate time for the journey to your airport. A flight from Gatwick, Heathrow or another gateway requires its own transport plan.

If you are leaving today, choose one nearby priority and leave the remaining time for packing, transport and the airport. If departure is tomorrow, enjoy the full day at the pace outlined above.
